Gathered worship
Our church meets to worship God together through Scripture, prayer, singing, and fellowship rooted in the gospel.
About / I'm New
We want visitors to understand that the most important thing about this church is not the building, the schedule, or the style. The most important thing is Jesus Christ and the good news of reconciliation with God through Him.
Sunday worship at 10:30 AM

Welcome
First Baptist Sonoma is a community united by faith in Jesus Christ. We gather each week to sing, pray, hear God's Word preached, and encourage one another in ordinary life together.
Our church meets to worship God together through Scripture, prayer, singing, and fellowship rooted in the gospel.
Church life includes community and hospitality, but we want that warmth to point beyond itself to Christ.
Christian worship is not just attending a meeting. We seek to live all of life as grateful obedience to the Lord Jesus.
Why Church
A church gathering does not exist merely to improve your week or offer a pleasant routine. The church matters because Jesus Christ matters.
The church is a place where the claims, warnings, and promises of Christ are clearly proclaimed. It is where people can hear what the Bible actually says about God, life, death, eternity, repentance, forgiveness, and hope.
It is also a place where ordinary people who have been reconciled to God through faith in Christ gather to worship Him together. Real community is a gift, but the center of the church is not community itself. The center is Christ.
If you are exploring Christianity, returning to church, or simply trying to understand the gospel more clearly, we want you to know that you are welcome to come, listen, ask questions, and observe without pressure.
What To Expect
We want people to know what walking in the door will feel like.
Visitors are our guests. You will not be called on publicly or asked to perform in order to fit in.
Whether you have attended church for years or never before, you can come, observe, and hear the message of Christ clearly explained.
If you want to understand Christianity, the Bible, or what the gospel means, we would be glad to speak with you after the service.
More History
The story of the 1851 building, the move to First Street, and the architectural details now live on a separate page so this page can stay focused on Christ, the gospel, and welcoming visitors.
